23 januari: Knistad en Kladdkaka
Wednesday our 6th day in Sweden. Our day started at school around 8.30 and we all went by car to Knistad it’s a golf & country club with a hotel and restaurant. First we listened to a presentation of Dan Persson who is the owner of Knistad. He talked about how to be successful when starting up your own business and being a good entrepreneur. It was very interesting to listen to, he gave us some good advice. After the presentation we went inside the hotel for some lunch in the restaurant. The food was delicious, we got all sorts of things like a fishburger, chicken, mashed potatoes and for dessert the very famous Kladdkaka which is a really popular dessert in Sweden. After the lunch we got back in the car to Skövde and had some free time. Me and a couple of friends went laser shooting in the mall and it was very fun. After laser shooting we went home, took a shower and got ready for the evening activity which was ice skating and barbecuing. We all gathered at the ice skating place at 17h and started skating. We skated for an hour and a half I think and then we ate some sausages with buns. Our swedish friends wanted to show us something after the barbecue so we left the ice skating place and went in the woods. Once arrived it was the most beautiful view of Skövde ever, you can see the whole city which was really nice. Now it’s 19h and we just got back home from ice skating. In 30 minutes we are taking the bus to Skövde city to go and hang out with some other friends because our time is almost over here which is really sad. I’ve had a great time so far and today was a lovely day.
22 januari: Zweedse scholen
In the morning all of the Belgian students followed class with their Swedish host. We could see how the classes are and see the difference between Swedish schools and Belgian schools. After that we had a presentation about Sweden, Swedish school system and Swedish songs. After we learned the Swedish songs we got divided in groups and made a survey about Sweden and Belgians. When we made it we were free and went out in the city and filled in the surveys. We ended the evening with bowling.
21 januari: speeddating in Skövde
Today was our first day in Skövde. We all went with our exchange student to a place where we all gathered to get to know each other. Over there we started with a speed dating game with some topics to talk about. After that we played some other games. Then we went to the school for lunch. After lunch the Swedish exchange students gave us a tour around the school. Later on we had a presentation about the cityhall and after that we had a guide to show Skövde around. After that we went to have a fika.
20 januari: Vasa museum en rit naar Skövde
We started the day very early because we already had to pack our bags before breakfast. Breakfast was the same as yesterday but it was very nice. Afterwards we took the metro to Slussen and there we took the boat to the Vasa museum. The museum was about a big boat that sank near the shore of Stockholm in 1628. When we left the museum we got some free time to have lunch and rest until we had to leave by bus. The 4 hour long trip to Skövde was very amusing because the bus had a lot of gadgets for example a PlayStation and Wi-Fi. Later this evening we will meet up with our hosts and spend our first night there.
19 januari: van de city hall naar een hockeywedstrijd
Today is the second day in Sweden. In the morning we had our first breakfast in the hostel, which was excellent.
After breakfast we had a guided tour through the modern part of Stockholm. The guide told very interesting things about this part of the city. Then we took the subway, in there we discovered some graffiti art, which was pretty nice.
The last stop was the city hall, there we had to say goodbye to our guide.
We visited the city hall with a different guide who was very enthousiastic. We went through the blue and golden halls, and we saw the conference room where the city council meets every week.
Afterwards we had free time and we tipped the day off with a fantastic hockey game!
18 januari: naar Stockholm
Today we started our exchange project with great enthusiasm.
Our day started early with our bus leaving Bruges at 5:30 AM, once arrived at the airport, we waited for our plain to take off with destination: Stockholm. We arrived in cold weather and immediately went to our hostel, which is our home for the next 3 days.
After having some lunch we all went out to get to know this beautiful ancient city, accompognied by a city guide. By that time the temperature had dropped to minus eight degrees. Despite of the temperature we had a blast during our first city tour! We’ll end the day with an evening walk starting at 9 pm. After this activity we’ll end what has been a very long day.
Stay tuned for our daily updates.
